MAYA is designed to set new standards for inclusivity and accessibility for the connected travelers of tomorrow.
At the heart of this accessibility is ADAPT™, a digital flight experience controller that supports passengers with disabilities.
ADAPT combines with MAYA’s user interface, empowering passengers to utilize their smart phone to control their travel environment. Passengers can enjoy a range of mobility, sensory, cognitive and language accommodations through this platform. ADAPT also responds intuitively in real-time to passengers’ needs using AI-powered InteliSenceTM technology.
A passenger’s mobile device can be used to control their seating environment, including seatback recline, lighting and in-flight entertainment. Because ADAPT uses the passenger’s own device as its primary interface, any accessibility preferences defined in their device settings automatically extend to the seat.
ADAPT breaks the mold of a one-size-fits-all approach to service in the cabin by informing cabin crew of a passenger’s special needs. This enables the crew to quickly adapt their service approach, ensuring that every passenger is treated with the care and dignity they deserve.
ADAPT’s intelligent features provide highly responsive accessibility suited to each passenger’s requirements.
Voice recognition – passengers can use voice commands as they would with smart home devices for hands-free control
American Sign Language (ASL) gesture recognition – ADAPT translates hand gestures to communicate with the cabin environment and crew
Audio and haptic feedback – passengers can receive alternative sensory feedback from control inputs. For example, passengers with hearing impairment can set an alarm and receive haptic vibrations from the seat when it’s time to wake.
Direct integration – ADAPT links seamlessly with a passenger’s mobile device
By allowing passengers to control their entire experience on one platform, ADAPT provides a completely unprecedented level of customization and choice. Moreover, this creates a sense of independence and agency for passengers within an environment that is traditionally out of their control.
